‘The Veil’ was a song inspired in a time of worship and studying Gods word, particularly Matthew 27:51.

The veil represented a separation between man and God, a separation caused by our sin. At the time the people and God we’re so close yet so far away because of the chasm sin had caused. I think it would have been easy for God to completely reject mankind but in His great love and mercy He placed the veil so that while we could not fully enter His presence, His voice could still be heard.

God being a loving Father provided in Christ the ultimate sacrifice so He could tear the veil once and for all and we could finally enter into His presence, face to face, heart to heart. Now, we have the freedom to boldly enter into His presence not because of anything we have done but because of what Christ did on the cross for us.

Personally, this song means a lot to me because in writing it God opened up my eyes to see what my condition without him would have been and the beautiful reality I get to live in because of Christ. I hope that in hearing this song, you too will see that God in His great love for you, tore down every obstacle that separated you from Him, you are free to enter freely into His arms even at your lowest.
