‘As the Battle’ was written as a part prayer, part declaration in song form. It was born from a place of learning to worship through the struggle; of crying out to God for breakthrough but also realising that even when the struggle involves our own sin, God still calls us to that place of intimacy in the middle of the battle.

I strongly believe that worship is one of the “weapons of our warfare” that God has given believers today (2 cor 10:4) The chorus “I will see Jesus” is one of those ‘telling my soul’ moments, we need to remind ourselves of this; one day we will see him face to face; the battles and struggles will be over and the race run.

I hope this song will encourage believers today who are in the middle of the storm to keep their eyes on the One we will be worshipping through all eternity.
