‘Hidden’ was written from a place of longing; longing to get away from the noise and chaos of life, and into the secret place alone with God; a longing that echoes the Psalmist in Psalm 17, “hide me in the shadow of Your wings”. 

I wrote this for a dear friend who was feeling this way; he described that sense of life being so noisy and just wanting solitude and time with God so his soul could be restored and soothed. His words resonated with me so much that I just started to worship and write, and this song was born. 

I think especially these days, with social media and endless communication, we all know what that longing is. Our hearts are crying out to just close off the world for a time and seek Jesus, and we should listen. May the Spirit of God minister to those with that same longing through this song.
