I like compliments. I like nice words directed at me even if I feel shy at receiving them, it does something to my soul but sometimes the narrative in my own mind is so wrong, so negative. ‘I’m not good enough’ I tell myself, ‘I should’ve done better’. 

I’ve created some word art with words of affirmation. One Saturday, I was in my kitchen cooking when I started to have some of these negative thoughts about myself and then I remembered the word art. I started thinking about some of the words they contain, which aren’t just words but truths. ‘I am enough. I am loved. I am accepted’. As I thought about these words, a song started to form. A song of affirmation based on what God’s word says about us. A song of affirmation to us all, similar to Paul’s letters of affirmation to the church. 

I am enough. You are too because God said so.
