I am always inspired to write songs when I teach on songwriting.

This song started as an example for my students; how to capture an idea so that you can work on it later. I had most of the tune and I knew it should start with the phrase ‘Set apart’ but that was all. It then sat on my phone waiting for the day that it would get finished.

Then, whilst on a mission trip to Brazil, driving along through torrential rain where the roads ran like rivers (!!) chatting with my host, he said the words, “all Jesus needs is for us to be available.” Boom! That was the key that unlocked the flow of the lyrics. In my bedroom the following day I wrestled those lyrics out of my heart and onto paper.
