I’ve been asleep. I drifted far from where I was supposed to be. I was swept away by currents of deceit.

I’d swallowed a lie; that I could live a life of compromise, but graciously God opened up my eyes.

When the Lost Son realised he was well and truly lost, his spirit cried Take Me Back to where my heart should be. He knew that he should be at home with his Father. We can all relate to the story of the Lost Son because we have all been lost at one point or another. We’ve all strayed away from what God has planned out for us and found ourselves in a mess. God doesn’t force us back on the straight and narrow against our will but has a gentle way of showing us that we need His help and healing.

This song is a song of passionate repentance. It expresses the heart of a Son who has been reunited with his Father to find acceptance, joy, and restoration. It’s a song that celebrates the God of second chances who can turn every situation around.

God called me as a very new Christian to follow His heart through writing songs. This recording is my prayer to ask God to keep me on a track of obediently following Him. I hope you can chant along with this chorus and allow God to affirm your steps in pursuing His call for your life!
